Installation Types
Recessed Mount vs. Surface Mount
A recessed application will involve cutting a hole into your wall for the back 3 7/8″ portion of your unit. This will leave 3 7/8″ protruding into the room.
The surface mount application involves installing the unit directly to the face of the wall, centered and anchored to solid stud. This requires no cutting into the wall and the full 7 3/4″ depth of the unit will protrude into the room.
