Product Description
The Cleveland 2513 long-length, high-speed steel (HSS) containing cobalt drill bit has a 30-degree helix angle, with a 118-degree notched-point drill point and gold oxide surface treatment, which is designed for heavy-duty drilling applications. The shank diameter is the same as the drill size. This drill has high red hardness for extended wear life in high heat conditions.
The 2513 series performs best when drilling into stainless steel, carbon steel, and cast iron. Gold also known as straw oxide is a low-temperature heat treatment that reduces grinding stress within the tool. Spiral flutes act as a passageway for chip extraction from the hole and for coolant to enter the hole. The twist of the flutes brings chips up and away from the cutting edge. The 118-degree notched-point drill point works well for hard and tough materials. The notched point can withstand higher thrust loads and has same benefits as a split-point design. The long, also known as taper length has more reach than Jobber-length bits and allows for deeper holes. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of tool holding systems. The round shank with tang provides a means to securely hold the drill bit in the tool holder. Made from cobalt steel which can be run at faster speeds and stays sharp longer than HSS tools, while offering resistance to heat and abrasion.
The tolerances for various aspects of the Cleveland drill bits are: drill diameter range through 1/8β +0.0000β/-0.0005β, over 1/8β to 1/4β +0.0000β/-0.0007β, over 1/4β through 1/2β +0.0000β/-0.0010β, over 1/2β to 1β +0.0000β/-0.0012β, over 1β to 2β +0.0000β/-0.0015β, over 2β to 3-1/2β +0.0000β/-0.0020β; drill overall length and flute length #80 through 1/8β +0.1250β/-0.0626β, over 1/8β to 1/2β +0.1250β/-0.1250β, over 1/2β to 1β +0.2500β/-0.1250β, over 1β to 2β +0.2500β/-0.2500β, over 2β to 3-1/2β +0.3750β/-0.3750β; drill point angle diameter range 1/16β to 1/2β included angle 118 or 135 degrees +/-5 degrees, over 1/2β to 1 1/2β included angle 118 degrees +/-3 degrees, over 1-1/2β to 3-1/2β includes angle 118 degrees +/- 2 degrees; drill lip height diameter range 1/16β to 1/8β total indicator variation 0.0020β, over 1/8β to 1/4β total indicator variation 0.0030β, over 1/4β to 1/2β total indicator variation 0.0040β, over 1/2β to 1β total indicator variation 0.0050β, over 1β to 3 1/2β total indicator variation 0.0060β.
