Grind Your Beans to PerfectionTo start, you’ll need to grind your whole bean coffee. For the best cup of coffee, you’ll want to grind your beans just before brewing. Use a burr grinder to get an even grind size. Grind size affects the strength and flavor of your coffee, so be sure to choose the right setting for your brewing method. Coarse for French press, medium for drip coffee, and fine for espresso. |
Measure and Add WaterOnce your coffee is ground, measure out the correct amount of water and coffee for your brewing method. A good rule of thumb is to use 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 ounces of water. Heat the water to the right temperature for your brew method. For example, 195°F to 205°F for drip coffee, and 200°F to 205°F for French press. |
Brew and EnjoyWith your coffee grounds and water ready, it’s time to brew. Use a coffee maker or other brew method to extract the flavors and aromas from the beans. For example, use a French press, pour-over, or drip coffee maker. After brewing, pour your coffee into a mug and enjoy! |
