Product Description
The ultimate bags for medication transport
For travel by plane or car, or for everyday life, we have developed the MedActiv series of cooler bags, which are cooler bags that keep medications between 2 and 8 ° C (35 and 46 ° F) for up to 36 hours. We have over 10 years of experience in making cooler bags for the pharmaceutical industry and have applied all of our design knowledge and skills to make bags that are techniy perfect and beautiful, yet discreet.
How the MedActiv bags are tested
We are continually looking for the perfect quality, and we strive to ensure that our bags are as suitable as possible for each type of trip. There are a number of things to consider, which are the ambient temperature, the actual temperature of the medication, and the conditions of use. What interests us is the temperature of the medication itself (and not that of the air around it). The necessary equipment: 1) Syringes and vials filled with water 2) Temperature logger (we use a thermocouple logger, with 8 individual temperature probes) 3) A temperature-controlled black box that will keep the tested bag at a constant temperature. We try to reproduce as much as possible normal conditions of use. We first fill the syringes, pens and vials with water and place them in a kitchen refrigerator so that they are between 2 and 8 ° C. We then prepare the bag by placing the gel packs in a -18 ° C freezer for at least 14 hours (-18 ° C is the temperature of a standard household freezer). We insert the temperature probes inside the syringes, pens and vials filled with water so that they are inside the liquid and measure the temperature of the liquid itself. The temperature probes are linked to the temperature controller, which is linked to a computer that records the temperature every minute. The vials / syringes / pens are then placed in the MedActiv bag, with the frozen gel packs in the correct position. The bag is then placed in a temperature-controlled environment (black box) maintained at a constant temperature of 24.2 ° C. The computer then records the temperature every minute over 12, 24 or 36 hours, depending on the bag tested.
Why 24,2°C?
The temperature of 24.2 ° C is internationally considered an average ambient temperature, and is indeed the temperature maintained inside airplanes. Since most people use MedActiv bags for traveling on planes, this is the reference temperature used to validate cooler bags. What if I use my MedActiv bag at a higher temperature? For example, if you use a MedActiv iCool Prestige bag, tested to keep your medicine at 2-8 ° C for 24 hours at 24.2 ° C, at a temperature higher than 30 ° C, it will not last 24 hours. It will only last 12 or 13 hours. Every effort is made by MedActiv to make bags that give perfect performance, but the performance of the bag is dictated by the inherent limitations of the environment in which they are used.
Bags that give you freedom
THE FREEDOM TO TRAVEL: Designed for the secure transport of fragile medicines. Keep your medicines cool at 2-8 ° C for up to 36 hours at a 24 ° C room temperature.
REFRIGERATED COMPARTMENT: Solutions for the secure transport of all types of fragile medicines.
SLOWCOLD TECHNOLOGY: Specially formulated polymer that stays frozen twice as long as a traditional gel pack and does not “sweat” during thaw.
Growth hormones, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, insulin, interferons, adrenaline, or any medication that should be stored between 2 and 8 ° C (35 and 46 ° F) or between 16 and 25 ° C (60 and 75 ° F)
