- This matcha comes from organic tea plantations on the high altitude and pristine Hangzhou mountains in China, the birtplace of matcha green tea. It is grown with precision to ensure top quality produce consitently each year. Rows of tea plants are spaced 1.8 meters apart, with each row measuring 165 feet in length. This allows harvesting process to collect top young leaves efficiently, filling one bag per row. The shading of the matcha tea plants is done for at least 21 days prior to harvesting and meticulously managed
- Our matcha powder is produced with utmost care. The leaves are hand picked (not machine harvested), air dried (not oven dried just to speed up the process) and granite stone ground to particle size of less than 20 microns. This makes the matcha powder smooth so it can be easily whisked to make green tea
- This is ceremonial grade matcha powder made from harvests in Spring. The leaves are younger and lighter in Spring and the matcha produced from them forms a rich foam when whisked to make green tea. The taste is genuine and subtle umami. Hence, only a small quantity is required per serving
- It is pure matcha and does not have anything else added. There is no added sugar, artificial colors or flavors. It is vegan and gluten free
- Use this powder for making ceremonial matcha tea or luxurious matcha latte. It can also be used for smoothies and shakes or can be sprinkled on any food (e.g. desserts, pancakes, cereal) to add umami flavour
- Premium quality matcha powder like this one has amazing benefits due to high concentration of antioxidants and l-theanine amino acids. Matcha is also a good substitute for coffee because although it is high in caffeine, it does not cause jitters and creates a long and sustained feeling of alertness and yet calmness
- Take 1 teaspoon of this matcha powder in a broad base cup or matcha bowl, add 1.75 fluid ounce of warm water and whisk vigorously for 20 seconds. You will find a rich and soft layer of foam on top which will have subtle and genuine umami aroma. Top up with warm water, optionally add honey and lemon, and enjoy the ceremonial grade matcha
