Many people have difficulty or the inability to swallow pills. The medical term for this difficulty is Dysphagia. Some are truly challenged with this, and others have an aversion to swallowing pills. There are many other reasons that medications can be difficult to swallow.
This can affect people of all ages, as well as pets and some large animals. When this occurs, and there are no liquid or other alternative medication forms, pills may need to be crushed into a powder and sprinkled into food such as applesauce or pudding or mixed into a liquid. Some may have feeding tubes, and medication must be ground into a fine powder to be delivered safely and effectively through their feeding tube. HOW TO USE: Step 1
Remove the top and place pill(s) into the well. Replace the top and continue to twist until you feel the top starting to tighten. Twist clockwise until you feel the initial crush/ breaking of pills.
Step 2
After the initial crush, turn a slight twist counterclockwise into a free spin mode where grinding will start. Now with slight pressure on the top twist the crusher back and forth like a pepper grinder.
Step 3
The powder will sift into the bottom cup. When crushing is completed, you will notice a change in the crusher tone. For best results, continue to free spin for air to sift any remains. Remove bottom cup.
Optional
If you prefer to use your own 30 ml disposable plastic cup, place it in the clear bottom cup before grinding and follow steps 1 to 3. You can then remove the disposable cup and administer the dose.
Easy Maintenance
The MAXGRIND’s bottom clear cup can be used not only to collect medicine and supplement powder, but you can also add liquid to mix your medications with for even easier administration.
