Meet the Maker: Todd Courtney
A self-proclaimed grilling enthusiast, Todd Courtney has enjoyed cooking and being creative in the kitchen for as long as he can remember. After many years of experimenting with different herbs and spices, Todd finally perfected his mix in 2001, with a combination of 14 different natural spices. He recruited friends and family to test it out on different kinds of foods, and the mix proved to be a savory success.
Soon after, Todd began packaging his seasoning in jars, labeling it as ‘Dirt’ and giving it as gifts to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. The enthusiastic response led him to turn his ‘Dirt’ into a full-time business.
